Juan Díaz-Faes

Juan Díaz-Faes (Oviedo, 1982)

Born in Oviedo, Spain, Juan Díaz Faes studied Fine Arts before moving to Madrid in 2011. HE later pursued a PhD where he researched the creative process, how ideas originate and where they come form. In 2011, he moved to Madrid where he developed his prolific creative career. His versatility has led him to explore and explore different territories and disciplines such as illustration, posters, muralism, painting and digital art.

With a sincere and casual look on artistic creation, and a friendly and approachable visual language, this artist manages to give life to sympathetic compositions and characters thanks to geometric chapes, lines and bustling patterns. But at the same time, the artist’s work and narrative require attention and detailed reading, as it offers its own multiplicity and meaning in every detail. Each work contains within itself differences. Each stroke takes over the spaces and materials on which he works: canvas, paper, aged fabrics, cement, ceramic, wood, digital media… opening a new world of aesthetic perception. This is one of the most significant dimensions of the artist’s world, which gies us back the ability to feel and perceive, in a time and historical context that strips us of those sensations.

Cities such as Miami, Austin, Guangzhou, Punta del Este, Seoul, Caracas, Paris, Hamburg, Oviedo, or Madrid have large format murals signed by Díaz-Faes. He has also exhibited in Conde Duque (Madrid), Point Éphémére Center (Paris), SOLO Museum (Madrid) and art galleries from Madrid, Seoul, Dubai, Marbella, Caracas and Gijón. And he has participated in art fairs such as ArteSantander (Santander), Urbanity Art Fair (Madrid), Urban Break (Seoul and Busan), The One Art (Taipei), or CerARTmic (Madrid), among others.
